About Manatee Audio

Manatee Audio was founded in 2001 by Gary Pitts, initially hiring Pro Tools rigs to major recording studios across London. What started as a service business quickly evolved – Gary rented his own studio space at Leeds Place in Finsbury Park as a working producer, then took over the premises lease and began expanding the operation.

Over the following years, Gary developed three further buildings into purpose-built studio complexes. Manatee Audio now operates across four buildings in total — three at Leeds Place in Finsbury Park (N4) and one in Hornsey (N8) — giving members access to studios across two North London locations.

With over 20 years in the London music industry, Manatee Audio has been the creative base for releases by some of the world’s most recognised artists, including Adele, Ed Sheeran, Dua Lipa, and Mumford & Sons. Our studios have hosted producers and engineers with major label and Grammy-winning credits.

Our dry-hire studios are available on flexible long-term contracts from 4 to 24 months, with 24-hour access, full soundproofing, and air conditioning. No day rates, no booking systems – just your own permanent space in the heart of North London.
